DFCM Family Medicine Clerkship Exam Faculty Lead

Role:

The Family Medicine Clerkship Exam Faculty Lead will work in close collaboration with the Director of the Undergraduate Education Program to ensure that the DFCM Clerkship examination process aligns with Faculty of Medicine Core Clerkship program and the strategic plan of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Job Description:

The Family Medicine Clerkship Exam Faculty Lead will lead the Family Medicine Clerkship rotation exam processes. Expectations include:

Student Evaluation: Ensuring an effective in-training assessment that monitors student progress by:

  • Creating clerkship examinations for evaluation of students at the end of each family medicine clerkship rotation that aligns with the Family Medicine Clerkship Evaluation Blueprint
  • Reviewing family medicine clerkship examinations at the end of each rotation to ensure the quality of the exam
  • Reviewing family medicine clerkship examinations for any concerns identified as part of the review of the statistics of the exam
  • Ensuring that the material included on the examination aligns with the curricular material of the Family Medicine Clerkship rotation
  • Creating and reviewing new examination material including review of questions created by exam question writers
  • Referring clerks in academic difficulty to the DFCM Director of Undergraduate Education

Collaboration:

  • Working with the DFCM Undergraduate Program Director to ensure that assessments reflect curricular content
  • Working with the Undergraduate Education Scholarship lead to ensure that a scholarly approach is taking with respect to evaluations

Committees:

  • Serve as a member of the DFCM Undergraduate Education Committee
  • Serve as a member of the MD Program Written Assessment Committee

Reporting Responsibilities:

  • The Family Medicine Clerkship Exam Lead will report to the DFCM Undergraduate Program Director.

Appointment:

  • This is a 2-year appointment. 
  • The compensation for this Lead position will be $12,000 annually
  • The Clerkship Exam Lead will be compensated by the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
  • The Clerkship Exam Lead will have administrative support from the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
