Strengthening Allyship in Action: Walking Alongside in Medicine

This workshop offers a collaborative space to learn about foundational concepts in Indigenous health and engage in dialogue that builds trust and respect. Through facilitated discussion and interactive activities, participants will reflect on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #23 and the role that we all play in improving environments for medical learning and access to healthcare.

Participants will also explore best practices for meaningfully engaging Indigenous colleagues and communities, uncover approaches to thoughtfully honour key days of significance, and gain tools to practice allyship in clinical and educational settings.

Ultimately, participants will learn how to nurture relationships and contribute to a healthcare system rooted in respect and accountability. Join us and develop strategies for strengthening allyship in practice and moving towards lasting change within healthcare and medical education.

Target Audience:
Healthcare professionals, physicians, medical learners, and administrators who are committed to reconciliation and want to strengthen allyship through reflection and collaborative action.
