Stronger Together: Advancing Practice, Knowledge, and Community in Emergency Medicine

Location: University of Toronto Faculty Club — 41 Willcocks St, Toronto, ON M5S 3G3

This one-day Tri-Divisional Emergency Medicine Faculty Development Event is hosted by the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Tri-Divisions of Emergency Medicine Planning Committee—within the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family & Community Medicine—representing over 650 emergency medicine faculty across the University of Toronto.

This inaugural event, “Stronger Together: Advancing Practice, Knowledge, and Community in Emergency Medicine,” is open to all faculty members in the Divisions of Emergency Medicine across the three departments.

This program has been accredited for:

  • College of Family Physicians of Canada Mainpro+® Certified Activity: 4.5 credits
  • Royal College Maintenance of Certification Section 1: 4.5 hours

Attendance is first come, first served with capacity for 120 faculty members from emergency departments across the GTA.

Learning Objectives

  1. Reflect on the evolving identity of Emergency Medicine by examining personal and collective experiences to strengthen professional purpose and career sustainability.
  2. Enhance clinician-educator effectiveness by applying evidence-informed teaching, coaching, and feedback strategies in high-acuity emergency settings.
  3. Promote wellness and career longevity by recognizing burnout early and adopting practical, team-based tools that support resilience and healthy work culture.
  4. Advance academic growth and community building by engaging in scholarly opportunities and collaborative, cross-divisional peer learning within Emergency Medicine.
