Corktown Medical Centre FHO is a community family practice at River and King St E in Toronto, a growing area of the city with a diverse population. We focus on high quality care, not volume, and have been seeing family medicine patients in this modern, well-kept clinic since 2016. Your physician colleagues would be established family physicians who have 10+ years experience. Job Description:
I am a family physician moving to another city and departing in October from my small FHO practice of about 400 patients (option to increase size), and thus need a licensed FP to take over. I have worked at Corktown Medical Centre since 2016 and I have a strong desire to find a physician who is dedicated to high quality and compassionate patient care, and not rapid-fire medicine. I have kept my practice small as I require time away from clinic weekly for personal reasons but we do have a wait list of patients who would like to join if a larger roster is desirable.
I can offer the option to locum for a brief period this summer to assess the clinic environment. The practice is standard comprehensive family medicine, and responsibilities include the usual aspects of such patient care, seeing/calling patients for diagnosis and treatment, reviewing results, sending referrals, and helping patients navigate the health care system. There is some degree of flexibility in your schedule and currently my direct patient time for my own practice is about 4 daytime half days per week. The FHO model by standard requires physicians to attend in after hours clinics (currently set at one evening per week and occasional Saturdays). We have recently benefited from FHO+ improvements in payment structure. The clinic is also seeking another physician to start a new practice to help with the patient demand in the area.
The EMR is Avaros and contains one-way and two-way patient messaging options, and online booking is set up. Overhead is 23%+HST.
Required qualifications:
Physician must have full CPSO licensure, CFPC designation, and their CMPA insurance.
Length of term: Permanent, part-time (with option to increase roster/time)
