Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive primary care, formal & bedside teaching, and participation in quality improvement initiatives among other academic activities. This position partners with another TS-FMTU staff physician to provide practice coverage for urgent clinical issues when one of the physicians is not on site.

The TS-FMTU is directly across from Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital. Residents work in a Family Health Team environment and are part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social worker, dietitian, clinical pharmacist, psychiatrist and a health promotion specialist. Enthusiastic experienced family physicians, leading community specialists and subspecialists, provide unique educational mentoring to the family practice residents.
Trillium Health Partners (THP) is one of the largest academically affiliated and community-based tertiary care facilities in Canada. Comprised of Credit Valley Hospital, the Mississauga Hospital and the Queensway Health Centre, THP serves the growing and diverse populations of Mississauga, West Toronto and surrounding communities. THP receives over 1.75 million patient visits annually, including 275,000 Emergency Department visit, 64,000 surgical procedures and 8,600 obstetrical deliveries. THP has 1,379 beds staffed and in operation across all three sites and has over 10,000 staff, physicians and volunteers.

The candidate must be a family physician with a demonstrated interest in working with diverse patient populations, hold an MD degree and be certified in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. They should be eligible for or hold an academic appointment within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. The candidate must have excellent clinical skills, as well as have a strong interest and experience in teaching medical learners at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
