Awarded twice annually to support DFCM faculty to present peer-reviewed research at national and international conferences .
Award
International travel is reimbursable up to a maximum of $1500 CAD, and national travel is reimbursable up to a maximum of $1000 CAD. Awards are based on availability of funds.
Eligibility
All faculty in the Department of Family and Community Medicine are eligible to apply. A maximum of one award will be granted per person per academic year (July 1 - June 30). Your presentation at the conference must not already be funded (e.g., through research grants, or the DFCM Professional Development Fund). Conference registration fees are ineligible. The application must be for conference travel that has not yet taken place at the time of submission.
To help support DFCM faculty who have had peer-reviewed research articles accepted for publication.
Award
DFCM will award 50% of a publication acceptance fee up to a maximum of $1500 CAD per peer-reviewed research article published during the calendar year (January 1 - December 31). An applicant must demonstrate availability of matching funds. Awards are based on availability of funds.
Eligibility
All DFCM faculty are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to new investigators (i.e., those who have held faculty appointments that allowed them to apply for grants and/or supervise trainees for a period not exceeding 60 months). The faculty member must be either first author or senior responsible author. A maximum of one award will be granted per person per calendar year.
