Teaching Opportunities
Impart your knowledge as a role model for future family physicians, help recruit talented individuals to family medicine, connect with others practising family medicine across Ontario, and enhance your career.
The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) trains learners at both the undergraduate (MD program) and postgraduate levels, as well as interprofessional learners including Physician Assistants. Learn more about the MD program by visiting our Education page, and about our postgraduate program on the Residency page. The following are teaching opportunities available to DFCM faculty members along the trajectory from medical students through to family medicine residents.
Teaching Medical Students
Faculty who are affiliated with a hospital site may have the opportunity to participate in teaching in the Foundations Curriculum (Year 1 and 2) through case-based learning (TOPIC), clinical skills (ICE), or Portfolio. Contact your Academy Director to learn more about this teaching opportunity.
All faculty, including those affiliated with a hospital site as well as community-based physicians, have the opportunity to teach medical learners in their clinical settings. Review the options below and contact your Faculty Development Lead for more information.
For faculty affiliated with a hospital site, find your FD Lead here.
