Simplifying the Accreditation Process
Applying for and obtaining Mainpro+ certification for your CPD program supports provision of high quality and relevant educational offerings for primary care clinicians.
A key to both ensuring that your CPD program is developed using best educational practices and results in a successful and time-efficient certification application is to work through the accreditation process in tandem with your CPD program development – rather than applying for it in “retrospect.”
Pathways to Accreditation:
If you are a DFCM faculty member there are two pathways for applying for Mainpro+ certification – through the Temerty Faculty of Medicine CPD Department or through the Ontario/Canadian College of Family Physicians. Deciding between these pathways will depend on factors such as the type of program, intended audience, supports required etc.
Overview of OCFP/CCFP and Temerty Faculty of Medicine CPD Pathways
Selected links for both pathways are provided below. More extensive information and many helpful resources can be found on their respective websites.
