Our Academic Fellowship and Graduate Studies (AFGS) programs include the following: Master’s in public health (MPH-FCM), Master of Science Community Health in Family and Community Medicine (MScCH-FCM), Master of Science Community Health in Health Practitioner Teacher Education (MScCH-HPTE), Academic Fellowship, Medical Education Fellowship and Certificate programs. Over the past 30 years we have provided training for over 1000 international and domestic students.
Position summary:
The AFGS Associate Program Director (APD) will assist the AFGS Program Director (PD) in the leadership, coordination, evaluation, and advancement of all aspects of the AFGS Program at the University of Toronto (UofT). The APD will have primary responsibility for oversight and program activities of the Master of Science Community Health in Health Practitioner Teacher Education MScCH (HPTE), Medical Education Fellowship (MEF) and Clinical Teacher Certificate (CTC) programs.
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate will have certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational and team building skills, a proven ability to lead and work well with others, and a strong commitment to the development of students and faculty. The candidate will be aware of present and future health professions education trends and possess knowledge of current best practices in graduate training and faculty development. The candidate will present a strong vision and contribute to building innovative graduate education programs that will best prepare our graduates for their current and future roles in teaching, education and leadership roles. The candidate will demonstrate interest in engaging in scholarly activities relating to graduate education. The candidate will have relevant experience as both a clinician and an educator. The candidate will have a graduate degree or equivalent and have attained a stature eligible for appointment at the U of T at the rank of assistant or associate professor.
