The PGY3 resident will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the relevant medical information inherent to the research question

Communicator

The PGY3 resident will:

  • Develop efficient writing skills for the purpose of research proposals, conference submissions, etc.

Collaborator

The PGY3 resident will:

  • Participate effectively and appropriately in interprofessional research teams

Manager

The PGY3 resident will:

  • Meet appropriate deadlines (funding, submission, REB, draft manuscripts to reviewers)

Health Advocate

The PGY3 resident will:

  • Advocate for the best interest for subjects/participants involved in research, especially in the case of vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrate concern that research subjects have access to appropriate supports, information, and services

Scholar

The PGY3 resident will:

  • Demonstrate self-directed learning and seek out opportunities for self-improvement
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to describe, the principles of research ethics
  • Critically analyze and review current literature from multiple sources
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of research and scholarly inquiry, and of critical appraisal
  • Formulate a focused scholarly question
  • Select and apply appropriate methods to address the question
