The PGY3 resident will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the relevant medical information inherent to the research question
Communicator
The PGY3 resident will:
- Develop efficient writing skills for the purpose of research proposals, conference submissions, etc.
Collaborator
The PGY3 resident will:
- Participate effectively and appropriately in interprofessional research teams
Manager
The PGY3 resident will:
- Meet appropriate deadlines (funding, submission, REB, draft manuscripts to reviewers)
Health Advocate
The PGY3 resident will:
- Advocate for the best interest for subjects/participants involved in research, especially in the case of vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrate concern that research subjects have access to appropriate supports, information, and services
Scholar
The PGY3 resident will:
- Demonstrate self-directed learning and seek out opportunities for self-improvement
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to describe, the principles of research ethics
- Critically analyze and review current literature from multiple sources
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of research and scholarly inquiry, and of critical appraisal
- Formulate a focused scholarly question
- Select and apply appropriate methods to address the question

The PGY3 resident will:
- Exhibit honesty, integrity, reliability, respect and compassion in all research activities
- Pursue enhanced skill development as appropriate to further improve research skills
