International Conference on Primary Health Care
The International Conference on Primary Health Care Policy and Practice: Implementing for Better Results will take place on 23 October 2023 hosted by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and co-organized with the WHO Regional Office for Europe and UNICEF (WHO website for more information).
The Conference is convened on the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the Declaration of Astana and the 45th Anniversary of the Declaration of Alma-Ata. The online platform and the Conference aim to:
- LOOK BACK and take stock of progress implementing the commitments in the Declarations of Alma-Ata and Astana;
- SHIFT GEARS and focus on practical implementation success factors of PHC transformation;
- LOOK FORWARD and anticipate policies and practices needed to future-proof PHC transformation to achieve common goals.
The landmark Astana declaration aspires to refocus efforts on primary health care to ensure that everyone can benefit from the best attainable standard of health anywhere in the world. It is time to take stock of how far we have come on those visionary aspirations and commitments.
