DFCM recognizes and values the contribution of our faculty in teaching education and research. If you are considering applying for an external award which requires support from the Chair, please be advised that there is an internal vetting process. Please review the process by clicking on the following link:

8-12 weeks prior to the external award deadline. Completed forms to be submitted to dfcm.awards@utoronto.ca.

Canada’s Family Physicians of the Year – Reg L. Perkin Award (CFPC) |
The nominee must be a CFPC member family physician in good standing. |

The nominee should be a renowned Canadian or international family medicine leader who has made outstanding, continuous, and enduring contributions to the discipline of family medicine in Canada or abroad. The nominee should be an excellent speaker. |

The nominee must be a CFPC member in good standing who has presented family practice issues to the public and/or other audiences, and has demonstrated many of the qualities which defined and were greatly valued by Dr Despins, including statesmanship, leadership, diplomacy, courage of conviction, sense of humour, compassion, and consideration of others. |

A CFPC Active, Senior, or Retired member in good standing. Experience in family medicine and related outreach in Canada, a dynamic speaker and communicator. |

The nominee must be a CFPC member in good standing and can be either community or academic based. The nominee must have made a significant contribution to family medicine education. |

The nominee must be a CFPC member in good standing and can be either community or academic based. The nominee must have made original and significant contributions to research and knowledge building in family medicine. |

Nominees must be individuals of distinction who are not family physicians in Canada, whether or not they are graduates of medicine, who have made outstanding contributions to the CFPC, to the discipline of family medicine, the health system, or the health and well-being of the population in Canada or abroad. |
