The Health & Wellness Centre at the University of Toronto at Scarborough is responsible for responding to the needs of a culturally diverse population of approximately 14,000 students. The Centre provides health promotion, individual and group counselling, navigation of care, psychiatry and primary care services to registered students.
We are looking for an experienced family physician with an interest in student health/transitional-age youth health. The successful candidate will work within our interdisciplinary team, which includes administrators, registered nurses, counsellor/therapists, health promotion professionals, psychiatrists and a navigation of care team (including a mental health nurse, a case coordinator, and a patient navigator) to provide consultation and collaborative care.
Key responsibilities of this role will include: providing primary care medical assessment and intervention; making appropriate referrals; possessing a good knowledge of the health related issues experienced in a diverse adolescent/young adult population; demonstrating a positive attitude, tact and diplomacy in interactions with individuals and departments; demonstrating the ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team; the desire to become familiar with the delivery of health care in an academic organization; the ability to use a computer for patient information (electronic health record) and an ability to adapt to a technologically changing environment; proven ability to perform calmly and competently during emergency situations; and the ability to demonstrate flexibility during peak periods of workload.
Renumeration: Hourly (with incentive)

Minimum qualifications include:
Be a graduate of a recognized School of Medicine, and unrestricted to practice in Ontario
Have a minimum of 1-year of related experience working in a group practice setting
Demonstrate a willingness and commitment to exemplifying Health & Wellness Centre mission, vision and values in a fast-paced, dynamic, team oriented, collegial and student focused environment
