Health Professional Educators: Community of Practice

As a Health Professional Educator (HPE) at DFCM, you are welcome to join our community of practice (CoP). You do not have to hold status appointment in the DFCM to join, but you must be affiliated with one of the DFCM’s teaching sites.

The purpose of this CoP is to foster connections among HPE colleagues in DFCM and across all sites, and to support you in your various academic roles. Through the community we hope to:

  1. Communication & Development- Sharing news relevant to HPEs from U of T DFCM and national sources while providing information on faculty development opportunities to support professional growth.
  2. Community- Strengthening connections among HPEs within the DFCM by fostering a collaborative network and promoting engagement.
  3. Integration- Developing strategies and guidance to enhance effective integration of HPEs within the DFCM and at individual sites.
  4. Advocacy- Championing the recognition of HPE contributions within the DFCM, including advocating for protected educational time, faculty development and enhanced faculty status.
