This year was unlike any other. The COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe, challenging physicians like never before. But with these challenges come opportunities for learning.
Family doctors have been at the front lines of the pandemic since the very beginning. Many have found innovative ways to ensure continuity of care and education in an ever-changing environment, and are sharing learnings and resources to help colleagues across the department. While we have pivoted and adapted to the “new normal”, there is still much left to be learned about COVID-19 and family medicine.
Every year, the DFCM Conference is an opportunity to gather, discuss and discover what’s new in family medicine. While the 2020 conference was cancelled due to the pandemic, DFCM is happy to announce that the 2021 DFCM Conference will be held virtually on June 3, 2021.
With the theme, Family Medicine: Learning from COVID-19, the conference will be an opportunity to share challenges and embrace learnings and ongoing opportunities around COVID-19.
We invite you to submit an abstract for one or more of the following by February 8, 2021:
Sessions on all areas of family medicine and primary care are welcome, but we encourage abstracts that reflect this year's theme. In light of the new theme and format, previously accepted abstracts must be resubmitted for consideration for the 2021 conference.
Please select poster or workshop depending on your application. For abstract writing tips, please see the materials at the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. The Office of Education Scholarship also has excellent resources for all stages of development of your project.
We look forward to receiving your abstracts and seeing you virtually at the DFCM Conference on June 3, 2021!
