The University Health Network – Toronto Western Family Health Centre Team is situated in a diverse downtown west residential community. It is an urban setting that also houses much of the arts and entertainment industry of Toronto. While residents can expect to graduate with the ability to practice family medicine anywhere in Canada, our focus is on cultivating broad scope family medicine skills, including collaboration within interprofessional groups, consistent with the primary care renewal strategy in Ontario. Our site is a Family Health Team. Our physician teachers provide care representing a wide diversity of clinical interests, such as obstetrics, hospital medicine, and rural and global medicine.
Modern office examination rooms fully equipped with computers and audiovisual technology for supervision.
A Family Health Team of nurses, a patient care coordinator, two social workers, three pharmacists, two half-time dietitians, a chiropodist, a health promoter, an occupational therapist and a physiotherapist with innumerable teaching awards to their credit.
Services are primarily provided in English, with hospital interpreter services available when required.
