The Sunnybrook Department of Family and Community Medicine is a dynamic and diverse group strongly committed to the care of marginalized and disadvantage populations, with expertise in palliative care, low-risk obstetrics, hospital medicine, and care of the elderly
The Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking 1-2 comprehensive family physicians to work onsite in the Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team (Sunnybrook FHO) starting November 2025 for 8-12 months to cover a maternity leave. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include provision of excellent clinical care and clinical teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate learners. The individual must be a strong team player, have demonstrated a commitment to academic scholarship and a willingness to work creatively and consistently within the greater North Toronto community as well. The ideal candidate would have interest in one of the following: quality improvement/hospitalist medicine/family medicine
obstetrics/addiction medicine/care of the elderly/primary care research/undergraduate education leadership/health systems leadership. Family medicine obstetrics is preferred but not required. The successful candidates should be eligible for, or already have, an academic appointment within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.
The clinical FTE for the position is between 0.3-0.5 FTE. Other academic leadership roles and focused practice are in addition to the clinical commitment. The start date is flexible, aiming for November 2025.
