Dr. Jennifer Hulme is an emergency and addictions physician at the University Health Network (UHN), Research Director for the UHN Department of Emergency Medicine, Associate Professor with the DFCM, University of Toronto, and Board Chair of the Centre for Global Equity in Emergency Medicine (GEM Centre). Her research focuses on program evaluation, health systems innovation, and advancing health equity and access to high-quality emergency care.

After spending the first decade of her career strengthening primary health care systems in low- and middle-income countries, Dr. Hulme now leads research that designs, evaluates, and scales evidence-based interventions to improve access to care for people who are structurally marginalized. She leads the national PEER-ED Research Network to strengthen the integration of peer support workers into emergency departments across Canada, and co-leads https://fasthiv.ca, an ambitious multi-site program that streamlines HIV testing and linkage to care in emergency departments across Ontario.
