Research summary:  

Dr. Nikhil Shah is a family physician and palliative care provider at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. 

His research focuses on health econometrics and policy evaluation, with an emphasis on using economic theory and population-based administrative data to evaluate health system policy. His work explores how financial incentives influence healthcare delivery and evaluates the value for money of health policy interventions. His current research focuses on physician incorporation in Ontario as part of the design of physician payment systems.
