Dear Colleagues,

I am very pleased to share the news that Dr. Danielle Martin has been appointed Chair of the Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) for a 5-year term beginning October 1, 2021.

Dr. Martin is an accomplished family physician, educator, researcher and health system leader who has been associated with DFCM for 18 years. She is a clinician and teacher at Women’s College Hospital where she has served as Executive Vice President, Lead Medical Executive and the medical lead of the hospital’s pandemic response, as well as co-founding WIHV, the Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care.

Dr. Martin joined DFCM as a faculty member in 2005, having completed her residency training with the department. This, alongside a wealth of experience in family medicine education, clinical care and health policy, will be an asset to the department in the coming years. I look forward to working with Dr. Martin as she leads the growth and development of our remarkable department.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Martin and welcoming her to the role.
