EPOCH (Effective Prescribing of Opioids for Chronic Pain) program

Delivered by Pain Canada, in coordination with the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine and the University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Pain, Effective Prescribing of Opioids for Chronic Pain (EPOCH) is a multiple award-winning program designed for prescribers. Previously named “Safer Opioid Prescribing”, the curriculum reflects the latest and best available evidence for opioid prescribing.
The program combines three webinars and an in-person one-day workshop to help health professionals deepen skills and practice in using opioid medications as part of a multi-modal approach to chronic pain management.
The webinars are accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 13.5 MainPro+ credits, and the workshop is accredited for up to 20.25 MainPro+ credits.
