Faculty Development Series - Part 3: Co-Development

Partnering with AI for Educational Development: Designing, Creating, and Innovating Together

Focus: Using AI to co-develop teaching materials, conduct literature reviews, generate images, support scholarship, and streamline academic work. A discussion of pros/cons, ethics, and implementation challenges for each.

Format: Zoom workshop (90 minutes). The goal is to introduce tools, practice using them in breakout rooms and then discuss as a large group. Break-out rooms to be supported by Digital Health Committee members, Faculty Development Committee members and AI research students

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify how AI can be used to co-create educational resources (e.g., presentations, learning cases, visual assets) that align with curricular goals.
  2. Identify how AI can be used for research support (literature searching, summarizing, data organization) in a manner that complements academic scholarship.
  3. Develop workflows that integrate AI into curriculum design and faculty development, emphasizing co-creation and reflective practice.
  4. Critically appraise AI outputs for accuracy, bias, and appropriateness before use in teaching or publication.
