The Faculty of Medicine, with direction from the Dean of Medicine, has decided to end its support of WebCV. Based on an analysis of the platform’s use over the past ten years, it was determined that WebCV is unable to achieve its vision of providing a single source of academic activity data to support the various needs of faculty members, departments and the Faculty in an efficient and effective manner. DFCM’s WebCV contract will expire on September 30th, 2016. Before this date, you must download your CV and all other reporting into a word document (or a similar platform). This format will now be used as the template for Faculty of Medicine Academic CV’s going forward.
Detailed instructions for how to do download your WebCV and access support will be distributed shortly.
DFCM encourages all of its faculty to create and maintain a CV of your academic activities and achievements for promotions, grants and awards in the Faculty of Medicine Academic CV template. If you would like to get started, the template (Word doc) is available for downloading online. The Faculty of Medicine’s Appointments and Promotions page also has links to other templates and guides that will be useful to getting started.
We appreciate those of you who have used WebCV in the past: it has allowed us to collect data on the activities and accomplishments of our faculty members. Over the next several months, we will be examining ways to streamline the process of collecting data for annual reporting moving forward and will keep faculty informed of our progress.
