WCH Family Practice Health Centre
Hospital-based and community office (but majority of time in hospital-based clinic).
Students spend most of their time at the Women's College Hospital Family Practice Unit, with approximately one half to one full day per week at an affiliated community-based clinic. All community offices are TTC accessible and most are in the downtown core (e.g., Bay and College, Bloor and Christie).
We are a fully equipped teaching facility with video cameras in a hospital-based clinic for observation and feedback. We provide clinical exposure to varied allied health team members including pharmacists, dietitians, nurse practitioners and social workers.
Selective experiences are available at the Bay Centre for Birth Control, Crossroads Refugee Health Clinic, Christie Shelter, HIV care, Environmental Health Clinic, home visits and evening urgent care. Students interested in obstetrics can request to spend time with one of our Family Practice-OB physicians or request an on-call experience.
