Description of Organization:
The Mount Sinai Academic Family Health Team is seeking a Family Physician to assume a well-maintained, full-scope patient practice at our modern clinic in Vaughan. This opportunity offers a stable clinical practice within a supportive Family Health Team, alongside meaningful involvement in medical education, quality improvement and academic initiatives.
About the Practice
Located near Bathurst Street and Rutherford Road, our large, bright and modern clinic features 28 fully-appointed exam rooms as serves as home to a collegial group of nine family physicians. This facility is designed with provider and patient experience in mind, offering dedicated physician workspaces and electronic documentation through TELUS PS Suite and Ocean, with the option to use a standalone AI scribe tool. The team accommodates a family physician group working in a blended capitation practice model (Family Health Organization, FHO). Physicians pay a fixed percentage of overhead from their FHO earnings to operate the clinic. Sinai Health provides a turnkey operation, including IT support, electronic medical record systems, staffing and supplies. Physicians benefit from comprehensive management, interdisciplinary (i.e. nurses, dietician, social workers, nurse practitioner), and administrative support, including extensive assistance with billing, rooming patients, vitals, specimen handling, appointment scheduling, and patient inquiries. This infrastructure allows physicians to focus on clinical care while patients receive coordinated, wraparound services. As an academic FHT embedded within Sinai Health, the clinic benefits from hospital-based resources, professional development opportunities, and integrated system-level supports that enhance both care delivery and provider experience.
Patient Roster & Schedule
- Approx. 850 rostered patients with opportunity for growth
- Six half-day clinics per week, including one evening clinic (5–8 PM) Participation in Saturday urgent care clinic (1 in 9 rotation, 9 AM–12 PM)
- Hospital, home visit, or obstetrical responsibilities available if desired by physician, but not required
Academic Expectations
Physicians are expected to participate in the teaching of medical students and residents. Additional opportunities include involvement in curriculum development, quality improvement, and research.
Qualifications
- Certification in Family Medicine (CFPC)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Eligible to work under a Ministry of Health FHO agreement
- Interest in comprehensive, team-based family medicine and academic practice
