A Professional Development Plan is an essential document for new and continuing faculty in the DFCM. It serves as both a self-development and career development plan for clinical and academic activities, including teaching, research, scholarship, and leadership.
We encourage faculty and their academic leaders to use it as a living document to further professional growth and align the faculty members’ individual goals with the goals of our department. In addition, there is opportunity within the document to specify faculty members’ current skills, areas for improvement, and career plans, in order to then define faculty development programs and mentorship to help support them.
